Today was the inspection and walkthrough on Little Missy by my new mobile RV repairman. Originally I called him about my carbon monoxide detector malfunction and asked if he could do a walkthrough with me when he came back to put in the new one. I am so happy as I learned so much about the care and maintenance on an RV. Although he found some minor things, he was pleased with her overall.
In the inspection he found no gas leaks; drained/cleaned out the hot water heater and checked the anode (it barely had any crud on it); figured out why my fridge wasn't switching over to gas (cracked porcelain connector); checked ALL the seam seals and showed me places where the factory missed; checked both engine and house batteries and talked at length about them ( gonna fix it so my house battery charges when the engine is running); found out why the AC wasn't blowing out any of the smaller vents and fixed that; oiled my steps and now they retract in further than they ever did; talked about dumping the tanks; checked the generator and ran it with a load (it got an A); checked the furnace; and showed me the button to push so the TV switches over to antenna (wondered why I wasn't getting any reception, I got 24 channels just by pushing the button and not even raising the antenna)!
Anyway, he is hoping to get back on the 26th to redo the seams, do the wiring for charging my house battery and replace the broken porcelain connector for my fridge.
