Fridge On In Below-Zero Weather

The Mobile Marlin is sitting in the driveway getting ready to go to St. Louis for a 4-night camping trip. It's all winterized and will not be un-winterized for the trip. Brrrrrrr. (Skinny little George just may freeze to death...thank goodness he'll have a house to sleep in, if necessary. I will relish the cold of the trailer...)
Here's my question - is it a problem to have the trailer fridge on (I guess using electric) when there's no heat in the trailer and it will drop to freezing or slightly below? (this is for the next several days while it's sitting in the driveway...)
Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back.

It shouldn't be any problem. Chances are the fridge will end up warmer than the air outside it

If it's going to be below freezing while sitting, why would you need it to be on? Can't you just test it by putting something in it to see how it does? If it's already cold then I'd think that it would stay cold as long as you're not turning on the heat while it's sitting.
Out here we don't know what freezing is

... so this is all a guess.

Good question. I just want to make sure I won't harm the fridge if I put it on say, Monday afternoon, just to get it ready to go for Wednesday. And if it's gonna freeze inside the fridge, I don't want stuff inside that I don't want to freeze...does that make any sense at all. (SHUT UP, VICKIE!)

With temps that cold, I wouldn't bother putting it on before Tuesday - probably night - and wouldn't put refrigerator stuff in until the morning you're leaving. Just to be safe. Unless you're going to start heating the inside at all - or unless the outside temps will be a bit warmer. But it shouldn't harm it. Don't know if the things inside will freeze or not. When I've been in temps that stayed below freezing, I was heating the inside, even if not a lot - so fridge didn't have to run much, but needed to run.

I checked this afternoon and told George he'll probably be sleeping in the house cuz it's gonna be C O L D. I have already prepared for his skinny bones to sleep inside quite comfortably.
I, on the other hand, with my plentiful supply of body fat, will personally will relish the cold (and the quiet, non-smoke filled atmosphere, with NO ONE snoring and getting up to pee 4 times during the night, not quietly, I might add.) Oh, my bad, and let the joy of utter solitude begin.

Well, I hope you have a good trip and a safe one too. I just talked with a friend of mine who lives in STL and she says the weather is going to be really bad there Sunday through Tuesday--snow, icy, mixed ice rain/rain. So you be very very careful please? Who would I parry with if you weren't here????
Other than that, enjoy the time in STL!
