E-ZEE Lift Spare Tire Lifter
My Roadtrek has a Continental Spare Tire on the back that has to be lowered in order to open the driver’s side rear door to access the storage space. I strained my back the first time I lifted the 80# tire back into place during my walk-through. There had to be an easier way.
I found a link to Ezee lift on the Roadtrek Forum, a device invented by a Roadtrek owner who is also an engineer.
I ordered one and today had it installed by my mechanic. It took about a half hour, and I probably could have installed it myself if I was a little younger and stronger. There are no modifications needed on the RT. It comes fully assembled and with clear installation instructions.
You simply replace the hinge bolt on the tire with the one that comes with the Ezee-Lift. A bracket is provided to attach the cable.
Then bolt the spring housing to 2 existing holes in the hitch.
That’s pretty much it! It works great! Happy customer:
