Anybody ever bought into those extended warranty coverage insurance things like Good Sam offers? Would they be worth it.

You'd be better off, I think, putting the premium into a special savings account for repairs. I had one for a couple of years when my rig was newer and, of course, never needed it. A lot of the coverage drops off as the rig gets older. Read the fine print carefully. The few repairs I had were less than the deductible.

A money maker for the company. Not worth it; use a savings account.

Now I have other feelings about insurance---it has always been engrained in me that I should be covered for expensive emergencies, and I have no money to 'save' as such. I have a loan on my trailer, and if it gets wrecked with all my 'stuff' in it, I want to know that it's covered, including all my stuff inside it. If I had needed to replace my refrigerator a couple of weeks ago, for instance, it would have been beyond me to do so. I have coverage by Good Sam's extended waranty plan. I opted for 200 deductible, so, yes----I have to pay that much for repairs, but beyond that, I know I am covered for big expenses. If I were to get a bill for 1500 to replace something, I would be dead in the water. The little cost of it per year for my model trailer is worth the peace of mind it gives me if I need to replace anything expensive out there in the boonies of dueling banjo land! To each his own. My budget is tiny, no savings, and I live close to the bone, so to speak. My personality needs peace of mind right upfront. This savings stuff has never been me.
So that's another side of the coin! We are all different with different philosophies, and mine is rather neurotic about big bucks coverage!

I purchased it when I bought my RV last December. I am still not sure, if I did the right thing. It is done and I am not looking back.
I like the "savings account" method and that is how I usually operate. I guess I will see down the line, if it works out for me or not.

I take the money you would pay for extended warranties, put it aside for problems. In 5 years I've replaced my fridge and my micro (got a conv/micro there - more expensive) and cost less than an extended warranty for that period would have been. My other repairs, if covered, wouldn't have gotten into the deductible.
My RV insurance covers my rv and all in it if an accident etc - and I did make sure I had extra coverage for the belongings - that's like homeowners and why I say it's so important to make sure your coverage includes that - many do not.
