Connecting CG water to RV

Connecting CG water to RV

Postby AlmostThere » Sun Aug 01, 2010 1:03 pm

AS it was always a pain to try to screw the water hose to the connection on my RV cause it is straight out, I bought a simple 1.69, 90* connection elbow to extend the rigs connection to point down. So much easier to connect my hose.
PS the new Sears pliers recently purchased was wonderful, but still wish I'd went for the 9" instead of the 7 as it barely fits on the hose so the grasp isn't as solid as I'd like. But still worth the $$.

Like this? I can't imagine not having it...
Also, I got a 2-set of RoboGrips the other day.
Haven't found need to use them yet. :(
Or, maybe that's a good thing!

Lori's husband Doc suggested one of those to me so I bought one at CW - had to take it back. when I screw it into rig I can't shut the door. Too bad, cause it sure would be easier than messing with the hose connection every time.

I couldn't use it either Kellie - wouldn't even screw on properly with the type door I have. Thought it would have been nice. But since I got those new Robo Grips - don't need it anyway- and I look at it - just one more thing to have to tighten LOL

But I can see how they'd help some. I run my hose over where my spare tire is - so it's not being pulled down right there.

For the newbies, I'd like to put out the reminder that it is critical to put a water pressure regulator on the hose at the faucet connection. Otherwise the pressure from the spigot could damage the rig's internal water lines. If you connected the water pressure regulator at the rig end of the hose, the constant pressure on the hose out in the weather can eventually cause it to split.

Janice, that's a great reminder...they look something like this.
Some have gauges, too.

At the CG faucet I put on the pressure regulator, then the filter, then my hose hooked up to the new 90* elbow attached to my rig. :P
