RV furnaces

Question 1: Am I to assume my furnace runs off propane only?

Question 2: Can I run the furnace plugged into my house electric?

Lenora, the two rv's i've owned are like this, the propane provides the fuel for the burner, but power, elec/gen. is needed for the blower to come on and off, along with the thermostat. I'm would assume your Little Missy is the same way.

When you're plugged into electric the furnace blower runs off electricity but as Vicki said, burns propane. If you're not plugged in your furnace blower PROBABLY runs off your batteries and still burns propane.

but remember that continued use on batteries alone run them down and then you will have no heat. (learned by experience!)

Many Rv'er had small ceramic heater that run off of electric, that we use when plugged into electric. It saves gas, especially if the electric is already paid for. I can also set the little heater so that it runs constant (white noise sort of) instead of having to hear the propane furnace cycle on and off thru the night......

Yup...I have the same thing. Little ceramic heater that oscillates and can be temperature controlled, and has a remote! Use electric we're paying for with park fees instead of propane. AND man, that furnace is noisy, like Tina said.

I use electric if that's paid for (with a cheapie electric fan heater) - gas if that's paid for. The only time my furnace has run down my battery is when the battery already was in need of replacing. Although it could happen if you have used lots of other battery power, also. And since I boondock a lot, I need to know I have heat when necessary.

But, I like it cold when I sleep - so generally turn the heat way down (lowest setting) and then reach up (can reach mine from under the covers) and turn it up about 5-10 minutes before crawling out of bed - to let the inside warm up.

When someplace pays for both my electric and propane, I usually use the propane heat - just my choice.
