HI -- I will be looking at an RV in White Lake MI within the next couple weeks, hopefully to buy. I checked to see if anyone had used a mechanic in that area, but did not see one listed. I need to have the unit inspected, does anyone have any experience with a mechanic in that area?
I have never had an RV before, have always tent or used a pop up. I have been looking forward to this and now I am getting nervous -- is that normal?
Thanks for the help --
Rosemary

And then there is the "Oh my gosh what have I done" usually somewhere between signing the check and home. Only lasts until you realize you have made it through your first trip and " I can do this" sets in!

Never had that reaction when I picked up Colt, but maybe it will come when I first get on the road

Anytime you spend that much of your hard earned money what is a weekend hobby for most of us, it should make you nervous. For all the joy my 5th wheel has given me and my family, I sometimes wonder how I can justify spending so much money to go camping..... and then I look at the GB squealing with joy and my friends around the campfire and yep...it was worth it.
Like the ole Visa commercial, some things are just priceless.

Maybe I should have put in a little more info. White Lake MI is NW of Detroit and about 30-40 miles S. of Flint MI. I am planning on meeting the owner and looking at the RV on April 23rd. So would like to have a mechanic look at it that day or the 24th. I have high hopes for this one!

Is this a private sale?
http://www.generalrv.com/locations/white-lake-michigan is a dealer in that town. If your buying from this dealer there should be some sort of warranty they offer. Otherwise the dealer may offer an inspection service. Probably cost around $200 for what others have said on the RV boards.

this is a sale from a private party, 2002 Gulfstream conquest sport, 60,000 miles, one owner and she has all the paperwork for servicing and work done on the unit. It is a 24 foot, Ford V10, with one slide and solar panels.
