Thought I would share this tip in case anyone ever has this problem. One of the women at the campout I just went to was having a problem with her air conditioner vibrating and shaking her whole motorhome. There was a RV tech staying at the KOA that worked on RVs and boats. He took her outside cover off and it was a mud dauber nest that was causing the problem. The guy didn't even charge her.

Love the daubers taking insects away from me, but really don't like their nesting habits. I do usually flip my vent doors on the fridge to check for nesting things, but haven't done the a/c. Hopefully consistent movement will hinder nest building! I did have yellowjackets doing something on one of my slides last fall ended up with 5-6 inside as I was trekking down the road....not even funny. However, the battery powered swatter did fry them!

I had a wasp building a nest in my awning this summer. Got that out quickly. Guess I'll have to remember the ac cover.

Thanks, Martha. Good to know.
I've had an unusually bad problem with red wasps this year - door handle, awning arms and refrigerator vent so far - that I know of anyway.
I've stuffed plastic bags in door handle and bottom of awning arms but haven't figured out a way to keep them out of fridge vent - would welcome suggestions.
If any in A/C, the tech will have to deal with them when he services the unit later this week.

Well, I bought some screen and taped it inside the vent door with duct tape.

Thanks, Pat.
When the mobile RV tech guy was at unit Thursday, I asked him about something to keep bugs out of fridge vents. He says there is a material you can clip inside that does not restrict air flow too much. He is to bring some next time he has to come over (for someone else). He did not recommend it for A/C but not sure I specifically ask about it. Will do that when I see him again.
