I picked up my TT Friday. It's the first time I've owned one. It's a '69 Shasta. Small but cute.

Those of you who have these types of trailers, what do you do when a good gust of wind sends you rocking? You're just hanging out with friends and notice the wind is picking up. And then all of a sudden...

Do they make things to help secure it to the ground?

I usually take a nap
I live in a fifthwheel and when the winds gets bad, I do feel a little rockin and rollen but have never feared anything
would happen. For the little trailers, you can get stabilizers to put under each corner if they don't have them built in.
Mine are built in and I make sure they are good and tight, minimizes the jiggle when walking around inside.

I don't think I'd be too concerned either if I had a fifth wheel. lol The trailer does have stabilizers. Yet this isn't reassuring me. Something that weighs so little I would think, could topple over from strong winds.

I've had trailers for going on 15 years, starting with a pop-up, then a 19' hybrid, a 19' hard-sided, and now a 26' with a 12' slide. I've been in wicked winds with all of them and have never felt like we were going to be blown over. We've rocked and rolled a bit, but never to the point that I thought the trailer was going to either become airborne or tipped.

You can always leave the trailer hitched to your tow vehicle if you're concerned. That will add another level of stability if you're that worried.

Enjoy the adventure. And it will always be just that when you're camping.

If you have REALLY high winds any trailer can blow over.

I don't think I would want a trailer hitched to my vehicle in high wind. If it blows over that will just cause more damage to the trailer tongue and the vehicle.

They have tie downs for mobile homes to keep them on the ground (hopefully). Might check into those. But they are for permanent installation. If you're going to be moving this trailer around they are not designed for that.

Just something you have to get used to. But never be in a trailer in a severe storm where high winds are predicted.

Isn't that when they send you to the cement block bath houses...
