Electrical Tip

My daily RV Travel online magazine had this tip for the day. When I pulled into this park the switch was in the "on" position.

QUICK TIP

Important, easy, electric safety tip
Switch off the circuit breaker at the shore power before plugging in! When leaving, switch the circuit breaker off before unplugging. Just for fun, note the times that you pull into a campsite and the breaker is still on. That tells you that the previous occupant really didn't know what they were doing, was living dangerously, and had not read this tip!

Thanks, Karen.
Much to my surprise, think I've found more switched in ON position than Off.

That is a very good safety tip. It's also a good idea to turn off electrical loads like AC units and hot water heaters before opening the breaker and unplugging. Could get a real shock otherwise :o

It's rare that I ever find a switch in the off position. There should be a sign on the electrical post instructing people to turn it off when unplugging. Really, how much effort does it take to flip a switch?

In some of the RVs there is a switch in the AC that if you do not turn off before unplugging you can burn that switch up after several times of not turning it off. So beware.
