ok, for the first time after many years of rv livign I actually have a working fridge, so I've got a noobie fridge owner quesiton.

I did as directions said and started at '4' running on gas. My food froze.
I turned it to 3, then to 2, things were better but this morning I put a milkshake on my cereal and lunch ground beef is a rock.
I've just turned it all the way to the 1 stop, but that wasn't too far, so I'm not hopeful of any change.

I've heard lots of stories of rv fridges that left the ice cream soft. Now I've got the opposite problem - mines seems to work too well!

8c/ Advice for dealing with this dern thing?

Mine is often on the verge of freezing food also. Does your refrigerator have a slide on the fin that you adjust up and down? Mine does, and I discovered that the reason it was not working was because the tube that is supposed to be attached had fallen off. As soon as I reattached it and set it to warmer, it worked fine.

Another solution is to get one of those tiny fans that Camping World sells. They keep air within flowing and so make the adjustment device work better.

The good news is that my freezer does an excellent job of keeping ice cream solid! Just have to watch where I put the lettuce in the refrigerator part.

Thanks! OK, looks like I've got a different model - found a youtube video with the 'slide on' thing you're talkign about.
Mine's got a thermistor wire, I can see, bolted between two fins. I'll get that replaced.
