The new motor home will be delivered in a couple of weeks. I'm trying to decide on the best brake system. I don't want one of the put the box on the floor and clamp to the brake pedel types. Any suggestions? Almost forgot the toad will be a '13 Honda CRV.

A lot of people are going with the Stay-in-play: http://www.smibrake.com/stay-in-play-duo.html

I still have Patriot that has to go on the brake. There are pluses and minuses for everything. With the one on the brake I can set it to not brake as often, and have a control in the rv to manually force it to brake if I want. With the Stay in Play, the car brakes will come on every time you put on the motorhome brakes and are decelerating.

This is the system I have had for 7 years. Had it transferred over to my new MH in 2007 and my new Toad in 2010.

I have the Stay In Play and love it. I am able to adjust the braking on my system. Since my toad is so light, the tech who installed it, set it to not brake hard for me. I had the Invisibrake before on a jeep I was towing. I like the Stay In Play quite a bit more.

I love my Stay-n-Play system. Just flip a switch to activate, nothing to install on brake pedal or store when not in use.

I also have had the SMI system for a couple of years. I enjoy the easy of hooking up and going...and unhooking...It was set by the installer to best suit my light weight Honda Fit and he suggested that I not change any of the settings. Works well for me. I also have the Blue Ox tow bar.
