Just joined today and figured out my signature so far, anyway.

But I tried to create my avatar to show up on posts. I uploaded a 90x90 pic to my Photobucket account, got the url for it, but when I tried to copy it, got message that it was invalid because size needed to be 90x90 or less. But I thought that's what I did, so what did I miss?

Thanks!
Malia

Sorry I can't help with you avatar but wanted to tell you I looked at your blog and was very impressed. You have made a wonderful record of your journeys. I'm also impressed with your strength to follow your dream.

Thanks a lot - I really appreciate that! My websites and blogs help me keep straight where I went when because I have a severe case of CRS - LOL!

The Avatar thing is pretty frustrating for me because I'm usually pretty good at figuring that kind of stuff out. And when I read the rules, it didn't seem like they wanted you to insert pictures within posts, but I see a lot of those around here, so obviously I have a lot to learn about this forum!

I hope someone can clue me in soon. ;)

if I remember right you have to use the direct link url for the avatar but for the pictures you use the img link but you can't post
pics directly without them being hosted like on photobucket first. I've recently tried out Picasa as the new photobucket has me
frustrated but I'll get it eventually. Mitch or Beth will chime in and get ya straightened out. I struggled with the avatar too the
first time, and the second time  when I changed it. Now I'm off to check you websites :D

Yeah, seems like I had to trim mine down a bit to something like 90X70

I'm having the same trouble trying to post my avitar. I am using the direct URL but I get the message it is an invalid one so" help" once again. I finally learned how to post photos but now on to the avitar problem. Maybe 90 x 90 needs to be scaled down more. I will try that.

I checked out your blogs, Malia, and found them very informative and inspirational. Love that name, "Inspiration," for your rig. I have only been doing this RVing thing for about a month now and right now I want to name mine "Moneypit" I think.

SUCCESS....

I just went back to Photobucket and finally figured it out. You can't copy the URL in the normal way. By placing your mouse on the link, it automatically copies it. You then paste THAT to the URL area to be sent. Just amazing...

Hi Aokay. I'm pretty sure I tried all the different ways to copy the url for different purposes and kept getting the same message about the size, even though I had scaled to 90x90 before I even tried to upload it.

I'm pressed for time right now, so will try again later by scaling down further.

Shoot, I just realized this forum section is really about Maintenance/Tech Issues related to your rig, not the forum. Guess I have a lot to learn here!

But I just wanted to let you know I almost choked laughing at your name "Moneypit" - I think we can all claim the truth of that one - LOL!

Yay, I finally got my avatar to publish! Had to reduce to 60x60 on Photobucket and use the direct link option, copied the link like Aokay said, and it worked. Love it when I can figure stuff like this out! Minor victories, maybe, but victory nonetheless! :D

And this is the right place for that. Maintenance/tech of any kind. And give us a chance and most topics can change in seconds.
