Trying To Keep George Warm...

So, George and I might be camping near St. Louis within the next several weeks. He's already grousing about being cold. I bought this stuff to make covers for the windows. For that, I'm willing to use stick-on velcro strips.



Any suggestions how to TEMPORARILY put it on the wall where he sits to watch tv and where I sleep? Some of you know how anal I can be and I don't want anything (like a hanger or velcro strip) permanent on the wall. Only thing that's coming into my mind is those 3M things that are removeable, but they're all hooks???

Also, any chance to run a small heater and a heating throw blanket on a 20A circuit? (I suppose I should go try and find what the little throw pulls in amps, eh?)

Mitch, use that blue earthquake or museum putty. I use it behind picture frames on the bottom to keep them from swinging when I drive. Comes off clean.

Mitch...I need to admit that I admire your "headlines" as they do grab attention But then before opening up the threads I have to caution myself, "No, Mitch would be that crazy..." First, the strange imagination of what one could do with coconut oil and now ways to keep your "sweetie" warm...... And really you are so sweet and innocent..... ........well some of the time anyway....

That should work. I used to buy the blue stuff for one of the fancy motels I managed. Bought some cheap stuff from Walmart also - both worked identically.

If you don't have them - get some type of cushions to put in the roof vents - they work. I actually broke down and bought the "real" ones this year.

But I do want to keep a window or a vent open slightly, right?

I bought two of the rechargeable dehumidifiers we talked about here a couple of months ago. Hopefully, they'll help with the condensation.

If I put that silver insulation stuff on the windows and some of the walls, am i creating a condensation/mold issue? We'll be gone for 3 or 4 nights. George will most likely (if kept warm enough) spend a great deal of time out there.

I get mine at Walmart in the office supply area, hanging on the wall with tacks, etc. You should keep some air circulating or the condensation can build up badly. How about fleece pj's and slippers with socks. That's what I wear when its cold but then I don't turn any heat on at night - just yell; "Come on puppies, get under the covers with mommy."

You only need a little bit of window or vent open if you're getting condensation inside. Doesn't happen to me in cold weather - at least not really cold - and not when heaters are on - they take more condensation out than necessary. Have only needed my dehumidifier in the summer weather - at least in this rig. If you see that you're getting condensation, yes, just a little venting should do the trick.

LOL - have ya seen the size of Abby - all 8 pounds of her!!!
Plus, The Little Beast is not a snuggler, no matter how little heat her little body would produce!!
And George doesn't like to snuggle any more, either.

At the risk of sounding like the newbie dummy (which, of course, you all know I am...), but why can't the heat be turned on to keep y'all warm and toasty? I'm sure there's a really good answer, and I obviously need to know so I don't do something really stoopid with the RV heat! And for what it's worth, having lived in the land of "Rockin' and Rollin" in So Cal, I used this stuff to keep my china in the hutch. Worked extremely well in that use as well as keeping pictures straight. We have a lot of small tremblers there, and my pictures were always off kilter (sort of like me), so this sticky stuff kept things straight up and down. (leave it alone Mitch; I can hear your wheels turning from here...)

Ya know, Li, you're makin' me have to come up with a SHUT UP, LI sign...deep & heavy sigh...

Li, just in case you didn't know, my sweetie has/is developing Alzheimer's disease and he has become somewhat particular in his wants and needs. I said the same thing about the furnace...? ? ? His response - it's so noisy. (my unsaid thought - then come into the house and...well, there's no reasoning with someone in this state, eh?)

I, lacking the self-control that the disease requires for caregivers, started an argument. God intervened and told me to shut the F up. I did. So, I'm looking for alternatives that don't, well, push his buttons. (this is the man that can fall asleep in front of a blaring television that I can hear clear across the entire length of the house...) We do what we must.

I'm really grateful for the Tremor Tape or Waffling Wax or whatever the hell it was that I bought...

I'm sorry to hear that your DH has this awful disease. I am sure you have much more patience and understanding than you give yourself credit for having.

Again, I'm sorry if I hit a nerve...if I did, it was honestly inadvertant and without malice.

Oh LI - no need to apologize (notice me talking for Mitch) - but I'm going to guess when they get there - they get the furnace running and he doesn't complain. But options are always good.
