Questions about routine servicing

Had a mobile RV service come to campground yesterday to get everything serviced on Magic - most of it for the first time and I've had her for a little more than two years.
Think my biggest concern is over the A/C. Tech took inside cover off and look up at lower coils. Said everything looked so clean, he did not think the unit needed servicing. He did not remove the cover on roof to inspect. He did have me turn it on for a few minutes and listened to it both from inside and out. Does this sound right? I thought it would have needed something by now.
Similar assessment for most other systems. He did change the oil in generator. Briefly looked inside exhaust panel for fridge and checked to see that it switched from shore power to propane when power shut off. Other than that, suggested I get some canned air and blow the area out now and then. (I took a tooth brush and got most of the pollen/dust out while he did other stuff.)
As little as the furnace has been used and since there is a bug cover over the exhaust, he also didn't think it needed any attention. Same for water heater which also has had very little use.
He repositioned one of the house battery straps - said Camping World had not put it where it would keep the 2nd battery from sliding around. Also disconnected both batteries and thoroughly cleaned the terminals and connections.
He cleaned and inspected the roof. Found a small tear where it appeared a limb might have hit it. Repaired that and said no evidence of water damage. Then he applied sealant/UV protection treatment.

Is there anything else I should have had done?
And is there any reason to be concerned over his visual assessment that other systems so clean they did not warrant service at this time?

Sounds to me like he did an awesome job in not "finding" un-necessary stuff to work on that would have cost you big bucks!! You seriously need to take this guy home and adopt him!!! But please tell me that you have had the engine serviced since you got her!!

Thank you, Sharon. I trust your judgement on such matters so will take lack of servicing off my worry list.

On the engine, the oil and filter was changed early this year. That is all I've had done. Magic has 12,030 miles on engine.

I took her to the Ford dealer (E350 engine) a week or so ago to have tires replaced due to recall. I asked them if anything needed servicing while there. They said no, not at 12000 miles. Is there something you think should have been done?

I AGREE totally with Sharon. I think you lucked out with this service tech. I do believe in going to Ford annually for the oil change and that inspection. Keep things clean and serviceable. The only thing I might take exception to is not changing the oil in the generator. But if he looked at it, he probably would know if it needed it.

I agree with Sharon and Beth, sounds good to me. I have heard of people having to replace an air conditioner but the air conditioner is probably the one thing on a camper that you will have the least trouble with. Just keep servicing the engine when the mileage says to and keep on trucking.

Beth - He did change the oil in generator. Said it looked good and only changed it because it was over two years old and he did not think I had used the generator enough. Said could probably have gotten by without changing oil but better to err on safe side since generators were so expensive. He advised me to run it a little more - say monthly instead of ever other month as I had been doing.

I really liked the tech. He seemed to know what he was doing, he asked a lot of questions about my usage of systems and if they seemed to be performing properly, and he took the time to explain why or why not something was done. I was just a little surprised and nervous about all the expensive servicing he said did not really need to be done yet.

Once I get the final bill, I will post about the place. They provided an estimate before sending mobile unit out. I just need to see how close it comes to the actual final bill.

Sounds like a plan to me! Was he cute? That would be next on my list of criteria!

Sarah, have the oil in your genny changed every year no matter how much you have or have not. Engine service every year no matter how little you drive it. Other than that you're lookin' good, GF!!

Oh..and keep an eye on the filter for the A/C..it's on the return on the ceiling. That's pretty much the only maintenence the A/C needs.

It depends on what I want him for...in this case, efficient and knowledgeable comes first....that's why you have the option to turn the lights out.
