Electrical Outlets

Electrical Outlets

Postby JoanE » Thu Dec 29, 2011 12:42 pm

Now that I am working from "home" in my MH, I am realizing the paucity of electrical outlets. My dinette/desk has two outlets. So if I plug in computer and Mi Fi, I have to find another outlet for printer/scanner which happens to be across the room by the door leading outside. I am so not knowledgeable about electrical but I think I can just buy an adapter with extra plug ins for my dinette and plug all three items in at once in one location. Too many wires strung all over right now. My dog keeps getting her neck caught on them.

Joan, I don't know how electrically safe it is but I have added an adapter under my dinnette to make six plug stations. Working right now and I don't have large draws on it at the same time.

I had a unit (my surge protector) that plugged all my computer components and then it just used up one electrical space of the outlet
and when needed I used the other space for my little heater. Never tripped a breaker.

Thank you, gals. That is what I thought. Glad to have confirmation that it worked for both of you.

I try to plug my computer into my surge adaptor - which gives me extra plug ins, also.

Your mifi needs an electrical outlet? Can't you plug it into a usb port? It'll charge and work at the same time. Just a thought on saving an outlet that way.

When I "upgraded" my MiFi to 4G they gave me a Samsung that cannot be charged with a USB connection. It has to be plugged in an outlet and doesn't hold its charge long. I'm not happy with it. Didn't realize I couldn't connect it with USB when I got it.

I found a really neat surge protector. It has a total of 8 outlets. It sits on the floor with outlets on the top and down the side. It also has USB ports. Much neater!
