Counter not counting

Counter not counting

Postby JudyJB » Fri Apr 29, 2011 3:30 pm

Does anyone know why the counter I downloaded to my signature is not counting? It is showing up as a static image, but not doing anything.

At this rate, I will never get to my retirement date!!

Thanks

It has said that for almost two months! It should say two years, one month, and a couple of days.

I looked at the source of this page, and it looks like maybe you didn't put in the entire code they provided you. So I think you put the static picture in without it updating. If you click on it, you should be able to get to your account and get the code - redo it - using the entire bbcode they provide you.

I would do it over, other than that I have no idea, when I did mine I just went to the website
and put in the numbers it asked for, etc.

YES!! My counter is counting, and I won't have to stay in limbo-land and never be able to retire!

We were worried about that "not being able to retire" without the working counter..... :? Guess you'll make it now.

Have to put my counter on this web site because my employer might not appreciate me counting down the days! Actually, most of the people in my team do know I am hitting the road in two years. I think management sees it as an advantage for sensitive projects--they know they can assign me to them and I won't be going to the competition.

I showed my counter to a handful of people at work, and they think it is hysterically funny!

I am also going through years of accumulated teaching material and tossing it. Everything is now online and I won't be needing all that old junk. Might keep one electronic set of a technical writing seminar I once developed, just in case, but my back is too bad now to do the old two-days on my feet standup training. (Company I once worked for had an 85 year old guy who used to teach for us using a stool and a microphone because his voice was so weak. He had an incredible bill rate, and participants loved him in spite of his limitations.) Guess they would have to prop me up also! I visualize someone wheeling me in and lifting me onto the stool.

Feels SO GOOD to at least have the end in sight and get rid of all my extra business stuff. I tossed my extra briefcase and my rolling computer bag, also.

Oh yes, oh yes! Sooooooo good.... I will have about 2 months after I retire where I will remain in VA before I start the journey across the US. and since it will be winter, I plan on using that time to pack the house (at least those things I can self pack) and go through the three drawers of papers and shred, shred, and more shred.

I also didn't think it would go over well if I put the counter on my sig at work...DOD is a little stuffy about such things. LOLOLOL!!!! :D :D :D
