kitchen vent

I have a question for you ladies. The vent on the side of the rv that lets the over the stove fan air out is really high up. Originally I would use a fishing pole to move the little levers on each side open and closed so that it would flap open when in use. Lately I've just been leaving it open, partly because I forget about it and I'm afraid I'll run the vent with it being latched shut. Now I'm thinking that going down the road it may flap around and break then insects/little birds may get in there and nest. So my question is, do you latch and unlatch yours every time?

This is the best pic I can find that shows how high the vent is, it's just above the "R" in Raptor, see how high it is compared to the guy standing there! I can't reach it.

Yeah, but you have a short trailer...manufactured for short folk. Or so they advertise.. Now Vickie's trailer...kind of like the difference between a tack hammer and a BFH.

You still wouldn't be tall enough to reach the vent

I don't have a vent on this rig, but when I had my TT I had a vent and I always closed it after each use. The bug threat was too great and it is such a mess to clean up.
