wood cleaning/protection product

I have cherrywood cabinets in my B, what is the best product to use for cleaning and protecting the wood here in the desert?

Carol, I haven't used anything in my new RV, but in my 1986 Holiday Rambler TT we used to have, I used Lemon Oil on the cabinets. I found it worked really good, considering the age of the rv, the fact that we live in humid La, we both smoked at that time, etc. so I figure the wood absorbed a lot of "stuff" and using the Lemon Oil worked really good, made them purdy and smelled nice too! Another thing you might consider using is Murphy Oil Soap, after we flooded, I used it to clean the funk off of the few things I refused to part with, like my Momma's sewing machine cabinet. I'm sure others will give you more ideas also.

I use the "orange" stuff. Work's fantastic both cleans and polishes at the same time. I spray it on a cloth and wham, my dark cherry wood cabinets are like new. It even tends to get hide those few scratches and dings I've been known to have carold

Me and my DH have been working with antiques for 35 years and have found there is no one answer to wood repair or maintenance issues. The reason for this is there are numerous finish types and issues. An open wood needs one thing, polyurethane wood finish needs very little, and wood with worn finish something else. Most newer cabinets the Murphy soap suggested is a good cleaner and if they need cleaning and the Howards brand lemon oil put on lightly does give a nice finish shine. It can be found at Lowes paint dept. or some larger antique stores. To me it sounds like Vickie was right on to me with her answer.

For any and all wood I use Murphy's Oil soap - will work to clean lots else, also.

Lemon oil is also good - but I prefer Murphy's.
