Mitch I was at an older park in New Mexico for two days and the AC ran continuously. I didn't notice it until we got to another park - it was running but NOT blowing cold air. I rely on the surge protector to protect my rig from big surges like in a lightening storm, etc. Was at a park in New Mexico and we had a big lightening storm and lightening hit the transformer in the park. There were two big Class A's; one with a surge protector and one without. The one with only fried their surge protector; the other without the surge protector fried all his inside electronics.

For everyday monitoring I love my little plugin voltage meter.

Mitch, thank you for the info from your friend. It is very helpful. The RV park was an older place in the Yukon Territory, and from the appearance of the place I don't think it's maintained very well. But when it's the only place around for many miles there's not much choice! I have the PI surge protector, the green one, in the photo you posted. When I hook-up I plug in the surge protector first, wait a few minutes while it "reads" the situation, then plug into my rig. I think I'm going to buy an extra PI surge protector, just in case of a storm or something that fries the one I have. It's hard to find stuff in some places and I'd rather keep my rig safe.

By the way, I have a little Class B Leisure Travel Van, and my daughter said that calling it a rig is like calling her scooter a hog.

How old is daughter?

Daughter is 35 - she and her husband have a little 2 year-old girl that has stolen my heart, and daughter is pregnant with the second. The 2 year-old was born three days after my daughter graduated with a Master's degree. She sold the scooter when she decided to have kids.
