I mentioned in MC that my Fantastic fan suddenly quit yesterday. Camping World installed it before I picked up Magic; however, they did not give me any info/instructions with the fan. I changed batteries in remote even tho I was sure they were okay. Then I climbed up on drivers seat to get closer look at unit. Distance for my reading glasses not right to make out what little is written on it other than I could see that it has a 4 amp fuse (couldn't reach it to pull).
Finally the couple parked next to me came outside and I asked if he could pull the fuse; he did and as far as either of us could tell, it was fine. But fan still wouldn't work. He came back later and told me there was a guy who lectures for FMCA a few units down from where I'm parked and suggested I see if he had any knowledge of fans. That gentleman generously got his electrical test equipment out and checked batteries, fuse, and power to the unit plus spun the blades to be sure motor not frozen. All was fine; beyond that he didn't know.
Once I was reasonable confident it was not an electrical problem (figured that would be the first thing manufacturer would tell me to do), I got on the Fantastic Fan site and sent e-mail to their tech support telling them what all had been checked and ask for suggestions. Within an hour they sent me instructions on reprogramming the remote. I got thru the programming but not all the verification steps before time to help Nan change sites; then we got side tracked but that's another story. Anyway, I think it is working now.
In the process, I also found out that the fan is reversible , a feature I didn't know it had.
Friendly neighbors and good tech support helped make it a very good day.
