name of something

shows my ignorance doesn't it...off and on this summer I've been with out power even last year it seemed to have a short in it
My sil will come out and usually get it started this time however even though he cleaned the prongs of the cord there is no power going into the trailer so assuming that it is the ???? that in my case is yellow and plugs directly into the trailer going to take it with me and so I can get the right one
but so wanted to look for it so I'd know about how much it will cost
any one know what the name of that power cord is cause when I put in power cord not find the short one that I have
thanks

Sheila is it the adapter that plugs into your power cord? Or maybe the plug that's on the end of your power cord?

not sure what is not working if it's the plug in that plugs into the extension cord (it has power) or if it's the part that plugs into the 5th wheel going to take it hopefully they can test it and see if it can be repaired its still warm enough to need fans ect to cool the place and dont know if I can run them off the inverter...right now in the house enjoying the A/C and wifi  normally I go to my abode about 9 think it will be much later tonight

Took my dd to Idaho Falls to catch the bus (she is spending the week in Dallas for part of her on line masters schooling) so sent her off on the bus to Ogden where the oldest dd picked her up and took her to the airport today then the eldest dd leaves think its Sunday for Phoenix for her on line schooling (they have to get together at least once a year) she is getting her doctorate ...anyway that is why I went to Idaho Falls went to the rv place and showed them the plug in and asked if they can test it cause I don't have electricity they said they could but that that plug in rarely gives out tested it and it was good so here I am thinking shoot was actually hoping it was that part as in my mind that left the place it plugged in to and that I would have to take the rv to them or pay through the nose to have mobile services to come...some how the adapter was mentioned and I said could that be my problem? they said they doubt it as the adapters rarely have an issue...but decided to buy a new one they put it on as it was a snug fit I came home and took the old one off and plugged it in went in held my breath and turned off the inverter and I had electricity!!! but this has happened in the past wouldn't work then would so still holding my breath ;) but where it didn't work for almost a week and I get a new adapter and it turns on makes me think that it might have been the problem!!! hows that for a long explanation for it works for right now?
thanks for asking Vickie

The guy said "rarely" not "never", glad you got it figured out so far. Electrical things can make a person crazy.

Sheila, on one of the RV tech sites I get emails from the guy was talking about the adapters. He said they frequently go out and to keep a spare because they are only about $14 from Walmart. I can't find the email because I delete them if I read them. Hope this solves your problem and it wasn't something like your converter.

I'm relaxing more after seeing all those "my adapter went bad" messages...I'll have to admit I've wondered how long this having the luxury of
electricity was going to last  went and got propane the other day so when it went out the refrigerator would automatically switch over trusting soul aren't I??
thanks

Some friends of mine arrived at their rv late one evening and their a/c was not working. They had some light working here and there but no a/c. I understand electrical things so I told them that they were missing one leg of their incoming voltage. We checked the breakers in the rv, ok. We checked the campground breakers, ok. Finally I said "I'm going to take a look at your cable and see if you have a burned contact on it." When I grabbed their electrical cable it practically fell off the rv and into my hand. I checked the plug on the cable; it was fine. So I plugged it back into the rv. When plugging a 50 amp cable into an rv you have to shove the plug into the socket tightly, then give it a slight twist so that the plug gets locked in and can't fall off the rv. Well, the a/c came on immediately when I plugged the cable in. It seems that the men who delivered and set up their rv 3 years prior had not properly plugged the cable into the rv. After 3 years of the cable being moved by the yard man, etc. it just finally got so loose in the socket that it wasn't making full contact. So, be sure to check this out if you're having an electrical problem. The cable must be firmly plugged into the socket on the outside of your rf.
