Photos don't show on KindleFire

Doe's anyone know why no photos and only a couple of av's show up on the kindle fire? They all show on my phone and computer. Must be something in the settings.

That happened to me on my phone once - did a reset and they came back. Never figured out what caused it. I know it happened to someone on another device also. Maybe someone else with a Fire can answer. Luckily, at the moment, everything shows on my puter, phone and Nook HD ... but I figure it'll happen again. Right now I can't get Words with Friends on my phone - and that's where I play it ... frustrating ... and no reason, it simply won't connect. All other games are fine and it's fine on my computer and Nook, so go figure. I've even removed it and readded it a couple times. Usually that works. Not this time!

This happened to me on the Kindle Fire a few months back - Here's what finally worked:

- Tap the menu icon at the bottom of this page.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll down to Advanced.
- Tap Desktop or Mobile View.
- Select "Optimize for mobile view."

That last seemed counter-intuitive since there was also an automatic setting, but automatic was where I had been and it wasn't working, and this did. What can I say?

And welcome, Mary Ann. I've been very remiss in my welcomes and shame on me when so many of these wonderful women welcomed me a year ago! Here's my chance to welcome you specifically. I'm glad you're here.

I love your Scamp! I have friends using theirs (17' ft?) as a couple(!) very successfully. He fishes and she paints at the picnic table, so they spend little indoor time together, except in poor weather, which she admits often sends them home. I think they're mostly weekenders like (for now) me, so that makes a difference.

My Fire isn't showing pictures again, and this time the instructions I wrote last time didn't work. Has anyone found a solution to this?

The new Kindle Fire does not use flash according to the folks at Amazon. I don't fully understand it, but they have their own version called Silk Web Browser you have to use/activate in the settings. Since some of the websites we liked to use us Adobe Flash we sent our Kindle Fire HD back. Amazon said Android products also have this issue at times. There are some patches on the internet you can use.

Don't know if this partly to blame for your issues.

IMO... I think the Kindle has to catch up to some of the others or they will be just like the Nook. Sales of the Nook are really down. I have the first Kindle Fire. I like the one I have, but I will not be upgrading to another Kindle.

Donna, what do you want it to do? Reading mainly? Surfing the net? I love my Lenovo basic tablet - the 7" which you can get for a fraction of the cost of the "big boys" lol - and about equal to what Nook and Kindle want for similar but with more and better features. I also prefer the 7" to the 9" - which is what I got with my fancier Nook. Love my basic Nook for reading and should have stuck with that - but wanted more - don't we always? And I like the android system, so stuck with it over "I" anything (which I won't pay their prices for - but that's just me).

If ALL you want it for is reading - either the backlit Nook or Kindle will work. Just don't go for the least expensive Kindle which will include having to put up with advertisements on it.

Lots of others out there, but I like Lenovo.

Editing to add - there are lots of tablets out there - so it's really what you want/need one to do for you.
