Those of you that have a class C motor home where to you take
it to get oil changes? It would cost me over $100.00 in gas to
take it back to LaMesa for oil change...I went with an indepented
local shop. A little shocked at price...can those quick stop places
do a class C? Just wondering w
hat you all do..

You can take it to any place that services your engine brand...Ford, Chevy etc. It's not gonna be cheap no matter where you take it. Not sure if I would take it to one of those cheapo places. At least if you get it serviced at a dealer (Ford, etc) they check the belts, hoses, tires etc.

I usually go to ford, and pay no more than a truck. Was under $30 last time. Some Walmarts can do it, some can't. Same with jiffy lube, etc. Check with them first. Not all have doors as high as others. And not all ford dealers can take a motor home either. Always check.

I took mine to A&A Tire - they have an RV bay and they always check my belts, tires, fluids, etc.

There is only one Ford dealer in my area that will service and work on my motorhome out of about 6 dealers. I don't find what they charge for an oil change that expensive. I want to say the last one was around $40.00. They will only take mine because it's 23' long, if it was any longer they wouldn't take it. When I had the 27' motorhome I had to bring it to an independent shop.

I am real leery of Walmart and some of those other places. Just looking at their help makes me nervous. You might ask if any of the RV dealers recommend anyone. The RV dealers here won't service or work on the automotive part of Class C's. I never have ask where the people with Class A's can get service. That would be my first question if I was buying one.

I went to an independent where they service Class A's twice ... both times got ripped off... sorry, they charged me the same as any Class A ... which takes more oil, etc. $100 + for an oil change, no thank you. One had a rate I thought was reasonable ... and the place was recommended, which is why I gave it a try after my first horrendous experience. I went and the price they quoted didn't include labor ... at $95 an hour? Swore me off those places in a hurry. Oh, and they didn't tighten something correctly, I stopped for some reason when pulling out and was already leaking. Luckily I stopped and saw it ... even a few miles down the road, I would have had NO oil... at least they got stuck doing free labor and another quart of oil at no charge.

I'm not afraid of Walmart or the others, but I do try to go to Ford when I can ... and size might make it easier for me.
