Redwahine wrote:Just an FYI. I saw these on top of very high poles on rigs at campsites both in RV parks and boon docking in Q. Then I saw them for sale at the sell-o-Rama and RV show for $79. Advertised to get local HD Channels. So I talked to one of the people in our camp ground that had one and he was getting full HD channels from Phoenix, Yuma and Lake Havasu. Over 25 channels. The picture was really great!! Channels from Phoenix was over a set of mountains. The catch?? You have to get them up approx 15 - 20 feet above the rig and pointed in the right direction. If we had not just bought the portable dish and signed a 2 yr contract with DirectTV, I would definitely give it a try!!

It's a booster, picking up local channels. I've thought about it, but never too seriously. Maybe one day... I'd probably get more stations with one than I am with cable at the park I'm in. But not the same stations obviously.

I would like to have something like that at the lake but wonder how stable they are in a big wind.

They seem to do well with those strong desert wind gusts. It depends on how sturdy the pole is.
