Got My Betta Today

I got my Betta today. Don't have quite enough water in his aquarium but they did not have enough Betta Water already bottled. I have treated some more, but will be tomorrow before I can finish filling his aquarium. It is just a one gallon aquarium and I have it on my desk here in the rig. When we are traveling, he can go in the sink because Betta's don't have to have the aerator going all the time. I have started back to work on my websites a little as of yesterday and today. Trying to get back to work full stream and it is weird to be working without a fish on my desk. Watching him is making this feel more like home.

I think I am just going to call him Blue because he is such a pretty color of blue. I also saw a really pretty light blue parakeet at PetsMart today. I thought of getting him too. May go back tomorrow. A parakeet is small enough to keep in my bedroom in the rig. I will just have to make sure if he is out of his cage, my bedroom door is closed and the dogs are not in there. Then I would have all my animals again.

Or as my youngest brother predicted, my traveling zoo.  He knew I would have to have my animals so told me I would end up with my zoo. I just know he is laughing out loud because he saw earlier that I have the fish now, next comes the bird.  My animals bring me such joy.

Is that a crowntail betta or a regular betta? I have a blue betta too! He has a little green and red on him as well. They are so easy to care for, very hardy. I just use distilled water for him and he does fine with that.

Barbie, it's a half moon Betta.

Carolb,  my other brother says zoo but I say home. With our travel style, we are stationary a lot more than moving and at this point in my life, I want the things around me that bring me joy. When I get the parakeet, the dogs will have to get used to it. The parakeets cage will be at their eye level when they are on the bed. This will be interesting working with the bird and the dogs.

Your gonna have to quit collecting pets pretty soon before you end up with a horse too! Or maybe a goat? :o

OK, I am done as of today. Now have all the pets I want going forward. Meet Buddy. Mom bought him for me for Christmas today. I know it's early, but it is what she wanted. He is definitely a feisty bird. I got a cage that is plenty big for him to fly around in. I had his wings clipped when I got him. Good thing! When I opened the carrier box to get him out, he came flying out. I caught him on the floor and picked him up. He latched on with his beak to my index finger. He was not a happy camper for sure. I will leave him in his cage for a couple days now to settle down. Will go talk to him periodically so he gets used to me gradually.

I sure am glad you declared that you have a "full MH" as far as pets go.... :o , or you'd be out buying a bigger RV.... ;) The new additions are cute and will give you hours of enjoyment....both fish and birds are suppose to be soothing for peace of mind....(said my Uncle and Aunt who had both...) Enjoy and Congrats....

Dawn,
What happiness! :D I prefered to call mine a menagerie  Just 2 years ago, we had 3 cats & 2 dogs - all of whom lived in total harmony. As a matter of fact our German shepherds helped to nurture newborn kittens who had been abandoned. They licked them vigorously after they were bottle fed to encourage the next bodily function. All but my faithful Sierra (15-year old GS) have passed on now but I know they added significant joy to our lives as your 'zoo' brings to you.
Enjoy!!! :D
