Buddy has gone to the Rainbow Bridge

Today is a very sad day for me. I had to send Buddy to the Rainbow bridge. He was, as close as I can figure, about 13. He's been having breathing problems in addition to his arthritis in his front shoulder and rear hip. Today he was really struggling for breath. I've known it was coming for some time but that never makes it any easier. Now its just Sophie and me. I won't know what to do not having to pick up tons of Buddy's hair and only having a sliver of the bed because he's all stretched out across the entire bed. Thank God I have little Sophie to snuggle with. She will miss her "Buddy" too.
Maybe someday I will be able to change my signature picture of the three dogs with me. They're still with me in my heart.
His last camping trip with me to visit Sharon in Bandera.

You know he is up telling stories to Sassy.....and worrying that you will be okay...I am sure that he has been filling Sophie with last minute information to be sure that you have the support you need.
They will always be a part of our hearts and the fabric of our lives.... After all the "love affairs" through the years our hearts still break anew with each love one lost..... I have always just felt blessed to have had such a friend walk next to me as long as he/she could.... (((hugs))))

Karen, I am so very sorry to hear about Buddy. It never gets easier when that time comes but he had a lot of good years with you. You and Sophie will have to give each other extra hugs for a while. Any you will always have your wonderful memories of Buddy.

Aww, Karen, so sorry to hear of this. What a guy he was, I really enjoyed meeting him and spending time with him and Sophie last year in Kerrville. It's like that song "The Dance", you wouldn't want to give up the joy of having him to not have the pain of losing him. Big hugs to you and Sophie.
