Want my dog back

I am so da_ _ mad I could spit nails

I took our dog Abbey to the vet today for a spa treatment, bath, nails, the works. What is scary is that Abbey is a Border Collie that is 18 1/2 yrs old, mostly blind and deaf and beginning to have separation anxiety issues. The girl tells me that Abbey will be ready by 5. At 4:45 I run to the drug store for some meds and it takes a few extra minutes, okay so....
I get to the clinic at 5:04 and the stupid place is locked up and no one around. They didn't tell me they CLOSED at 5

I would never leave her there on purpose, I think it's too much stress on her at this point in her life. I must have looked like an idiot pounding on the doors with tears running down my face, yelling "I want my dog back".

They open at 8 tomorrow, and AFTER I have her I will probably let lose on them. I can promise that we will never go back there.

Sorry, just had to let off some steam - I'll be PO'd at them for a looooong time.

isn't there some kind of law about leaving a dog unattended. That cruelty to animals. There must be
an emergency phone number somewhere on the door. I'd call the police and see if they have some
emergency access number. That just isn't right, whats the name of this place, a review on the
internet would probably get the point across

Oh Vicki--that is terrible! Didn't they have an emergency number listed on the door or window? I would be furious too. Hope she is not too upset. OOPs guess I posted at the same time as Ava. I agree with her and I definitely want to know the name of the place since I live in the area.

I would be furious too. So is there no one there at all at night to watch over the sick animals? They'd be better off at home. Give em hell kiddo!!!

I would have thought they would call you before they closed up to let you know, or stay a little late to wait for you. When we close our shop, we are still there for 15 or 20 minutes to clean up and close out the cash drawer. I am surprised no one was there at five minutes after closing. Hope they don't think they will charge you an overnight fee! And also how they can leave a dog there by itself overnight?

That just ain't right. Why didn't they call you before they left? Something wrong with this place. And yes, they'll probably try and charge you for an overnite hotel stay. Hopefully they fed and took her potty before they left. Give 'em hell, Vickie and let us know what happened!

That's just not right at all! Did you check for back doors or any cars in the parking lot?

I did check as much of the building as I could get to, pounding on the doors. It's a wonder I didn't set off any alarms!
There were no visible phone numbers anywhere - strange right? Also called the local popo, although they were nice about it, the clinic is across the street from their jurisdiction...
That's okay, at 8 tomorrow morning the fur is going to fly!

Fur will be flying and s___ will hit the fan! Don't blame you one bit...They deserve to be reported over this and especially considering the fragility of your dog. This only means one thing as far as I'm concerned. They are in it for the money!! That's not good enough for humans or animals. Give them some bad publicity, maybe they will treat the next client better :(

Vicki, that's terrible. And no excuse. Your poor baby! Not only should the fur be flying tomorrow, but I'd refuse to pay. And this means your poor baby is left without going out from 5 pm to 8 am. How DARE they. Please report in as soon as you leave there - I sure hope she will be so glad to see you that this experience doesn't cause more problems with her anxiety.

Okay, Abbey is home! I was at the vet clinic door at 8 when they unlocked the door, maybe you all should run and hide
As I spoke with the up front girl, she seemed puzzled that I was upset. She told me she had to leave early yesterday, but had left a message with the vet and he was supposed to stay til at least 5:15. I told her about pounding on the doors, and which cars were in the area. She then admitted the vehicles did not belong to the vet and that he must have left. Seriously???
They did not charge me for anything - gee thanks...
Got the Abbey home, she is shook for right now but should be okay soon. They must have left her in a kennel, maybe on a wet towel, she was still damp - what a healthy thing to do. I can tell she did not get any of her pain meds last night, and was hungry and thirsty, so all of that is now taken care off and she is sleeping.
Carra has already posted a review on there web site, boy she let them have it!

Well, since I didn't see anything on the news this morning about violence in Tx, I'm assuming you left the gun at home....which is probably a good thing. Poor Abby, but so glad that she is ok and hopefully won't have any lasting effects from her ordeal. That vet needs to be arrested for cruelty to animals! What was he thinking and what was that groomer thinking that she didn't call and give you a heads up??? Big hug to Abbey and one for you!

Question...that's not the vet that normally cares for Abbey is it?

I was livid when I read what happened to Abbey. I'm so glad she's home and is recovering from the ordeal. Who is Carra?
