I want to get a dog ramp so my dogs can get into the back of the Flex with no problem. Have been looking at a telescoping one online. Had one before and I liked it but my dog didn't. Anybody use a ramp for their dogs? If so, what kind do you have? Thought about making one, but I want one that can be shortened and stored easy for travel.

The only one I'm really familiar with was a home-made one a friend used. It was made of plywood, I believe, in pieces on hinges to fold easily - and they velcroed indoor-outdoor carpet on it - which their dog liked. It might have been a little heavier than a store bought one, but didn't take up more room.

I bought a telescoping one for Roe when he wasn't able to get in the rv by himself. It worked ok, although he still needed help with balance and it became easier to lift him as he went downhill rather quickly. Too bad it's stored in FL. If I had been coming your way i'd have glady liven it to you. I got it at Pet Smart.

My sweetie made this for The Little Beast. Bed's too high for her to jump up, and I wasn't about to get in and out of bed every time she wanted me to...she's a brat that way.



I'll send you the ramp, no charge, but it comes with a little white dog.

You also said you used it for the oversized toilet. Hope you don't take running starts to get up the ramp when using the pottie -- that last step can be very wet.

Sue, I had a ramp for Sandy (Shepherd/Lab mix) to get into the truck, she didn't like it but was able to be coaxed. Cooper and Trent just love the thing.

Update: I bought a telescoping dog ramp from Pet Smart. It's working great. The dogs have adjusted to it and are using it to get in and out of the wagon just fine. It's so much easier on them and me although I do have to start them off at first especially when they are getting in, but once those paws are on the ramp, up they go. Coming down, they just naturally do it now. Thanks for all your suggestions and input.

Sue - which telescoping ramp did you get? PetSmart has a couple of telescoping ones and then a couple others that got really good reviews. Oscar just would not jump up in the truck this last weekend.

I just bought one for Buddy at at Pet supply store here in Kerrville. It will hold up to 200 lbs and weighs only 10 lbs. It folds in the middle. I sort of pushed him onto it the first time but after that he went up and down easily. He can't do much traveling with me but at least now I can take him for a weekend or so and he won't feel left out when Sophie and I drive off. When I got back from south Dakota after my Granddaughter took care of him, he seemed really depressed. Don't think he got enough attention. He's really stiff when he walks but his tails is still wagging and he's still smiling.
