I came home late from work once and couldn't imagine why the kitchen floor mat was in the middle of the living room. Peeked under it and found out. Good thing I didn't step on it. My dobie had an accident and decided to hide the poop like it didn't happen. I couldn't get mad, it was my fault. when I asked her about it, she just turned her back and sat down. Sort of saying talk to the PAW. LOL

Now that holidays and visiting are all over with...I am pursuing my quest for a dog. Have looked on line till I'm tired and haven't had much luck...I absolutely do not want a dog that has to be shipped to me....what a trauma for the poor animal...and some that answer my request (I posted on Craigslist locally) just ignore my response...One from the Chicago area just refuses to read my reply re: shipping......Anyway, have checked the local Pet shop places & the local dog shelters...lots of little weiner dogs, but not any mini poodles......Not giving up & will continue to check the web...putting my request on all local Rescue websites...I know I'll know when I see the right one for me...going to Santa Cruz tomorrow...when I called the lady said they'd let me see the little poodle they now have...(even though tomorrow is a holiday)...Hope she's the one as she looks like she really needs someone to love her....

Hey, there! There is absolutely nothing better than a little weiner dog! Gretchen, Willie, and Harley are traumatized by the comment.

Good luck Char. Hope you find what you're looking for. I've got my Rags a ShihTzu and again have my daughter's ShihTzu, Rocky. They're neat dogs and some are very smart.

I guess we all have our "favorite" kind of dog that we would like to have (or do have). I love shelties and poms. Don't care for tiny dogs or really big dogs, and I prefer dogs with longer fur (cats too!). To each his/her own!

I don't always admit it in front of either Herschel or Remi but when I drove to adopt each of them.....Herschel in Louisville and Remi in Muncie, IN, I would not have told you it was "love at first site." Both of them were pretty scraggly looking physically. You could count every rib in 1 yr old Herschel's body and 5 month old Remi's coat was nothing I recognized from those Breed books... his care and nutrition had been so non-existent. In either case it was just a knowing about the nature of the particular breed and the faith that over time and good nutrition we would learn to figure out our relationships. I think any relationship is a leap of faith. Driving back home in the car I kept doubting my common sense...as in why did I think I needed another dog. Herschel at one year was completely untrained and knew nothing about living with hooman beings. I had to tie a leash to a back seat door handle inorder to be able to get out of the car and fill up with gas. But we learned about each other and the other dogs at home taught him so much. He in turn taught Remi when Remi joined us. So....maybe you see a dog that speaks to you or maybe you will find one that just asks that you take a leap of faith. Having raised dogs from birth and knowing that I was keeping that "one" from the beginning.....and having chosen a companion that is half grown....I can't say that the resulting relationship of one over the other is any stronger or better. But don't tell them that because they each know that they are special.

I knew I wanted a pug but was never sure of the timing. While looking online I came across the American Lo-Sze Pugg breed and saw there was a breeder in Oregon so I called just to get info. The breeder, Terry, said she had 9 wk old puppies, two left, brindle colored male and a white w/black spots female, and wasn't going to breed the mom again so if I was interested I needed to let her know asap. After conversing a bit longer I agreed on getting the male, sight unseen. A week later I drove to get my forever baby boy. I fell in love with him instantly and have never been sorry. He's smart, funny and a bit spoiled
