son comes back from working on a unit that was a moveout a couple days ago, they left
a kitty (almost kitten) in an empty apt with the litter box, bag of leftover litter, catfood
and the kitty bed (folded up towel). Its downright cold here, and that little kitty was not
an outdoor kitty. Told him he should bring it home and he said no, go get it mom. He
tells me it reminded him of Lacey, a kitty we had many years ago when he was a child.
So I go get the kitty and bring her in and slowly let the girls sniff and see what happens.
Nothing! The girls were curious of course but no one flipped out. She's laid on the dog bed,
my bed, and now has a spot picked out on a shelf above the bed. Thats where I fed her
so she could enjoy a good meal stress free. She's very calm and very quiet but I know
she is still stressed out a little because her eyes are still glowing red, although she has
blue eyes and is of that long haired siamese variety with the white paws. She's very
sweet and loves to be held. She seems healthy but I'll get her to the vet after Christmas
and have her checked out for feline leukemia and get some shots. Have no idea if she
is spayed, probably not cause she's very young. But a spay is on the agenda for sure
and hopefully very soon before she goes into heat. Its obvious she is accustomed to dogs
because they had a dog too but didn't leave it, only the 4 months worth of poop in
the back yard. Needless to say I call her Lacey and she seems to be ok with that.
It was never my intentions to "get" a cat but guess this one sort of found me.
Poor thing, just burns me up that someone would leave it in an empty apt. I'll get
some pictures of her soon but for now she's getting accustomed to her new surroundings.
