RIP Remi

We lost our sweet Remi this morning. I heard him making noise in his kennel and ran to him. He was having some sort of seizure, so I pulled him out of his kennel and laid down by him hugging him, trying to get him out of it. It was over fast, I'm glad Ronnie was still in bed so he didn't have to see him go. He would have been 11 years old in a couple of months.

In his younger days, still kinda skinny, one brown eye, one blue...

In his older days at 75lbs.

Aw, Vickie, I'm so sorry for the loss of your Remi. I am glad for both him and you that you were able to be with him when he went on. And I know he's at Rainbow Bridge with all our other furkids who have passed and are waiting for us.

Big big hugs to you and Ronnie -

"No matter how close we are to another person, few human relationships are as free from strife, disagreement and frustration as in the relationship you have with a good dog. Few human beings give of themselves to another as a dog gives of itself. I also suspect that we cherish dogs because their unblemished souls make us wish - consciously or unconciously- that we were as innocent as they are, and make us yearn for a place where innocence is universal, and where the meaness, the betrayals, and the cruelities of the world are unknown".

I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad that you were able to be with Remi while he passed. I couldn't do anything for Sandy and Phoebe, but was glad I was with them, holding them when the time came. Hugs to you and Ronnie. Linda

oh Vicki, I'm so sorry, this sort of stuff just makes me cry and I didn't even know Remi but just knowing him his name gets mentioned on the forum from time to time, I grieve for you and Ronnie, it brings back memories of the loss of my own.

Not many words...but ((((( hugs ))))))) for you and Ronnie and some extra ear scratches for the pupper that remains. Some dogs really go through their own grieving , too. I know there will be a greater silence in your home where once you heard his feet padding around you.
