Dear Herschel,

You know my heart belongs to you, but I grow weary of waiting in vain for the return of my affections.

There is a new man about town (Palmersville, that is...).
His name is Jake, and I think, as good looking as he is, he used to be a Chippendoggy.
(ooooo, I get all goose-bumply think of him clad in nothing but a black tie...)

PS: That little white-butted hussy there is his sister, so no competition for me in that regard...



So far, I have kept myself true to you - Jake has not sniffed by butt, nor touched my toys, nor eaten my cookies laying all over the house.
I have kept him in the kitchen and out of my heart.
(On the other hand, I've had to put his sister in her place...she's much younger and all goofy and wiggly and jumpy. I have no fondness for her.)

Chippendoggy Mitch you have made my morning! The GHL better bring Hershel to see Abby before she turns her affections to another.

Herschel has definitely some competition. Jake is a cutie. Cooper really thinks he is adorable and is talking of packing her bags and heading to TN. ( I gave her a map )

Dear Cooper,

I would love for you to come visit The Blue Marlin...we could be friends. But Jake is the only boy dog in the area that I'm acquainted with, so you'd need to leave your little paws off him. Got it? Other than that, we could nap and chew and whine and nap and eat and sleep. Wake up and do it all over again. Jake's sister, Sahara, is very beautiful, if you're of that persuasion.

I understand that our being apart is hard on you, you being such a sensitive darling sweet thing. I also appreciate that you allow me to munch on your chewy rawhide. (I seem to remember Peaches allowing me some liberties with a chew treat the first time I met her but I digress...)

You know that when I met you I tried to explain that our love was pure but that my life style (and certain other surgical adaptations) do not allow me to make promises I can not keep... Know that I cherish our time together and as my very precious sweet Abby you will always have a piece of my heart.

I'm laying here laughing at you all. I mean Herschel has been mine for 2 days. I do know that he'll be abandoning me tomorrow. He's adorable, but gals, he's fickle. We have to just take him for the short times we can.

Yes, Abby, I do walk on all 4's and I guess my bum is hairy. And Herschel likes me, too. As I said, he likes all the girl doggies. Much as I love him, he is fickle. And you are delusional
