Breed DNA Identification Kit

Postby MsBHaven » Sun Sep 07, 2008 8:53 pm

Has anyone bought one of these kits? They sell for about $50 online and will tell 4 breed types of ancestors. We are really curious about our latest puppy - - looks like a Chihuahua, but there is also something else there and we are curious. She was a rescued stray so we have no clue about her ancestors.

I haven't and don't know anybody personally that has but they did do a report on
our local news on this dna kit and as long as the breed is in their
data base they can tell what it is. The list of breeds is getting bigger
all the time. A couple of our news guys did do the tests with their
dogs, and one of them was supposed to be a golden but turned out
it was a mutt. The other one was what it said it was but I can't
remember that part. The kit they send you is a cheek swab type.
You swab the inside of the cheek and put it in the vial and send
it in the prepared package. Is case anyone wants the link......
