Sedona and her new Mommy

Postby sunshinecruiserTN » Mon Dec 20, 2010 4:22 pm

Sedona is not going to be traveling with me anymore. She is living with Theda in the park at Johnsonville State Historic Area. It is a great place and she will be much happier in one place (I think.) Not so sure about me but I believe in my heart and soul I've done the right thing. I'll just have to love on your furbabies. For more detailed info you can check out my blog post.

Aw, I know that was hard to do, but glad your good friend will have her. You'll be able to visit and assure yourself she's happy.

I'm sure it was a very agonizing decision for you but in our hearts we always know
what the right thing is to do. You will get to see her again from time to
time and don't worry, she won't forget you.

..

That had to have been a very difficult decision.
But if it's best for her, it's the right one.

I'd let you love on Chewy but we all know how that would turn out! Sorry doesn't say it, just know my heart is breaking along with yours. I know you thought long and hard about this and it was a difficult decision, but you've done what's best for Sedona. Some dogs just don't do well traveling, just like people. And I know Theda will spoil her rotten, whether that's a good thing or not I have no idea. Big hug to you my friend and take care!

I'm so sorry it had to come to giving her up. And I know it will be more difficult on you than her. You are welcome to come love on Nicky anytime - he would love that, unlike Chewy.
Maybe you can find a new traveling companion before too long.
I have a friend with 4 two day old puppies who will need a home in a couple of months. Will send you some photos after the holidays if you like. Don't think they will be ready to leave mom in time for me to bring one to FL gtg but I could get one to you later. Think about it.

My heart aches along with you. On the short trips I've taken with my Choco, he isn't a happy traveler, either. I'm not sure how he will do on the longer trip this next summer to the OR coast. Guess I'll find out. I sure hate having to drug him every time. Just not fair to him. You are so blessed to have someone in place to take her, knowing that she will be much loved. Hugs..

I know what a difficult decision that was. I had to leave behind my cat and my ferret when I moved out here to California. My cat would have been really miserable with traveling (the backseat of my car still smells like pee from when I took her to her new owner just a mile down the road!) I had a dream last night that I missed my ferret so much I moved back to MN!
As hard as it is, you have to do what is best for their comfort. Some animals just don't adjust to traveling. :(
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

You know, it's hard to predict how an animal will react to traveling until you get them out there and try. It's unfortunate that your pooch didn't like it, but good on you for thinking about what was best for her instead of continuing to stress her out for your needs. I truly believe that we're called to put our 4-legged friends' needs above ours when we sign on to be their caretakers, and if we can't do that then we have no business having them.

Thanks for caring enough about Sedona to do what's best for her, even though it bruises your heart.

Awww, Carolyn, I know you didn't make this decision easily and knowing how much you loved Sedona we all know it's going to take some time for you to get used to it. Meanwhile, I'm sure she's happy and well taken care of.

Awww, Carolyn! I know how hard that was for you to do, but I suspect Sedona will be happy to have some roots in her older age. That was a very wonderful Christmas present to give her. And it sounds as if your friend will be happy to have a companion now.
We drove right past that Bonnet resort the other night when we went to Epcott to view the lights and sights.....Goog explained to me that a rich guy bought up all that property that Disney was selling nd put in a brand new, fancy resort and golf course. It looks beautiful there!

Now then, just where are you parked for the winter? If I could learn how to drive anywhere on those horrid speedways down here, maybe we could meet for lunch somewhere? Youj must be very close to this place where I live in Williamsburg----about 5 minutes from Sea World.

Molly says HI, and would love to have you visit and pat her!

Oh Carolyn, I know that was difficult for you and it takes a lot of love to do the right thing for Sedona. Sophie sends you a big hug and kisses.

Carolyn {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}} and a shoulder if ya need it. What a hard heart breaking decision to make. But if she's been that unhappy 'traveling' you have done the right thing for her. And it's so great that there was such a good friend that she already loves who was able to and wanted to take her to heart in a new home. So good to know that you will be able to visit and get lovings from her any time.

How kool that you are going to Disney World to work. Painting faces on the faces of the 'little dears' wouldn't be my cup of tea either tho! Not a big fan of a lot of the 'little darlings' out there running around any more. Way to many of them AREN'T little darlings at all. Ohhhhh shudders!  Kelly and I are gonna apply at Dollywood for the season of 2012. Ought to be interesting to say the least! Upside is that we will only be about 2hrs from home. Will get to see son and grandson a whole lot more!!! YAY! 'Nana' will get to see if grandson is a 'little darling'.

For goodness sake keep us updated on the job at Disney....

I'm sure that was a very difficult decision for you to make, but it was so very brave and kind of you to do what was best for Sedona.
You'll miss her, but your heart will be glad knowing she's happy in a wonderful new home - I'm sure it's been stressful for the both of you.
