Oh no, not again - update

I had company for the long Veterans Day weekend - my friend Lizzy was here while her human went back to LA. The weather was good Friday and Saturday so we got to play outside a lot. Rain was forecast to move in Saturday night so my human decided to tackle the leaf build up again. While she was busy with that, we made a nice big hole out back. Yep, I caught my foot on something and ripped another nail. Yiks!
Had to pout a while; no more playing for me. But you can't keep an old dog down too long; I've got attitude!
At least I have a big hole to show for all my effort. Human only had clean driveways and walks for a short time as the leaves are still falling. She now has a stuffed up head too. Told her not to crumble all those leaves without wearing a mask but she didn't want to take time to go to store for one. Now just who do you think is the smarter one?
Later, Nicky

Oh, NIcky...I'm so sorry you got hurt YET AGAIN.
Maybe you could talk your Mommy into getting you some of these:
(but maybe not in pink...I don't think that's your color).
Love,
Abby

Ouch, I know it hurts, Nicky. I did that too on the trail recently. Only the vet didn't give me a nice blue bandage to match my collar like you have. He just trimmed off the rest of the nail and said, "Take an aspirin and go to bed!" Tell your hooman, I hope she feels better soon.

Nicky, Many MANY years from now - when you meet me at Rainbow Bridge waiting for our Hoomans - we can talk about all the ripped nails we had - and that I think bothered our Hoomans more than us. We bear pain sooooooo much better than they do. I'm awestruck tho that you let that bandage stay on your paw. Mine never made it out of the vet's office. Oh, once it did - but was gone in the car. Even the vet gave up on bandaging me. Mom had to try to keep me from acting up and out of danger on our walks until I healed. I hope you're back to full speed soon. Your hooman needs you, ya know.

Sophie here. I NEVER dig holes, that sounds like work. Do you want me to come kiss (er lick) it and make it all better?

Well Nickie I bet we would have a fun time together... when Peaches was here we played... do you think we could play some day... what a bummer... did that human take you to the vet and had that put on your foot... you should just bite it off...
Hope to see you soon

Nicky, can you teach me to do that?? woof woof I promise I won't snarl at 'cha, I've been practicing 'cause I dig in the bed but I never get anywhere. It sounds like so much fun.
My hooman said she told your hooman to use a mask before and she didn't do it. She must be stubborn!
I hope you get better real soon.

Bandages gone!!!! I managed to chew first one off but it got replaced quickly. Decided to humor the people and left the second one pretty much in tact until yesterday. Feeling all better now. Am hoping the human here gets her vocabulary back soon - frankly I'm getting tired of only hearing "No" or "Leave it". Lizzie will be back for Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Looking forward to a good run by then.

Glad you're feeling better, Nicky. Go easy on your hooman for awhile...no digging.
