R. I. P. Sandy 8-3-10

My best girl passed on August 3, 2010 at 10 PM. She was 17 yrs young. She started slipping during the last week of July and went pretty quickly after that. She lived a long and happy life and will be missed terribly. I was concerned about Trent, one of the other dogs, as he took to her right away after being introduced to her 4 1/2 years ago. He was so proud to have her as his "big"a sister. He was pretty stand offish and didn't go near her. Cooper, on the other hand, took it pretty hard and didn't want me to remove Sandy's body. She wouldn't let me out out the house and keeps going over the the "area". She is much better now after some time. The other tow are handling it as best they can in their own way. I constantly smile at the thought of Sandy being so large and the others being ankle bitters and always running under her. She took to all the puppies as her own and was never cross with any of them. I am glad that the house isn't empty and we are able to console each other.

I'm so sorry, Linda. I've wondered why you've been so quiet, now I know. 17 years is a long time with your best girl and you have lots of memories. Again, sorry for your loss.

Linda,
I feel your pain honey. I lost my precious poodle when she was nearly 17. It gets better. Love the little "ankle bitters" you have. Her memory will always be with you.

Sorry to hear about Sandy, Linda. You do have wonderful memories and pictures to fall back on as well as the rest of the "family". Mitch, thanks for posting the picture. carold

Aw, Linda - so sorry. She was lucky to have you and vice versa. So glad you have the others now.

I fixed your picture, then scrolled down and saw Mitch had been here too - so we get to see your lovely girl again twice.

Awww, so sorry Linda on losing your best girl...it's so hard, isn't it? Cuddle the little ones when you're having a cry session...they won't know why, but it'll help you and they'll love the attention. Big hugs to you.

Thank you for your kind thoughts. Thanks for fixing the picture, I get so frustrated with photobucket that I just give up. GRRRRR.
I always asked Sandy who did her make up, but she kept that secret to herself. :D Linda

I'm sorry to hear about Sandy, Linda. She was a beautiful dog. You had her a long time, and there'll be an empty place for some time, I'm sure. Glad you have your other furkids near.

Big hugs from me and soothing licks from Molly for you and the other fur-kids. Sandy was such a lucky dog to have had such a long and happy life with you who shared your life with her and loved her. We never forget those fur-kids, and often remember the happiest times with a tear or two.

Linda, so sorry for your loss. 17 years is a long, long time to have a faithful companion. Glad you have the other pups for company.

Oh, I'm so sorry you lost your precious Sandy. She lived a good long life -- especially for a big dog. Kiwi sends licks to you, Cooper and Trent. My heart hurts for you ... I know how you're feeling because I lost my Bandit dog just a few weeks ago.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Linda  Sounds like you are coping well, in spite of your loss. I'm sure it helps to have other fur babies to love on ;)
