Meet our Pug "Meme"

This is our pug "Meme". She was a rescue pug. Someone moved out of their condo in Tampa, and left her behind. A couple of days later, the neighbors heard her barking and had the landlord open the door to find this helpless, loveable lil gal sitting there, hungry and lonely. We met her and fell in love with her. She is a sweetie!

people leave animals abandoned.

She's a lucky dog now!! Unfortunately, lots of people do that. They just move away and leave their pets behind to fend for themselves, trapped in a house, apartment or trailer. So very tragic  . The lucky ones, like Meme, are found in time and get into good forever homes with lots of love and TLC. They sure deserve it!

OK, don't tell anyone, but I cry at the drop of a hat. And I'm an educated person who knows that this sort of thing happens all the time. But when I saw the picture I cried. I swear I can't understand how one living being could abandon another. Anyway, so glad to see a happy face on her now.

Lucky you, and lucky Meme! I, too, cry all the time when I think of all the poor little creatures out there in the world that get left behind when so-called humans leave a place. It just kills me to think that I can do nothing to prevent this from happening. What on earth are people thinking when they are so heartless.

Anyway, Meme looks to be very happy on her float! Thanks for saving her, and I know she will be forever grateful for her new, caring home.

What an adorable cutie. How can people be so cruel? That's how I ended up traveling with three dogs.

Bless you for rescuing her! I'm a lover of pugs. I have an American Lo Sze Pug and just adore his antics!

Meme, how cute are you! :D My niece moved in with me a year ago and has two Chihuahua/pug mixes, one is more chi and the other more pug. Both are adorable. Thanks for saving this one. Right now I'm trying to get animal rescue to pick up a dog that has been wandering the neighborhood since last Sunday. He has decided to live under my van. I tried to get him to come out, no luck. I called every rescue and shelter in the area and no one will come out. Also called my vet and the police, no luck either. He was probably let loose by someone to foolish and stupid to bring him to a shelter. He was obviously someone's pet as he listens and obeys commands. I feel bad, but can't bring him in the house as I have 5 dogs here already and one isn't doing well enough to handle another. I leave him food and water, trying to win his trust. He did eat in front of me yesterday, so maybe by the end of the weekend I'll be able to get a leash on him and take him to the shelter. Linda

Oh Linda, you are a puppy angel too! Don't give up on that dog...
After going back and forth with the convo..no dog, yes dog with the DH and DS..we decided to go for it, when we moved into the new house! The only way we would get a dog is if we could save one. We both grew up with dogs and always had them around. Our kids grew up with a Shar Pei and then a Pug. Our friends used to tease us that we only "loved" ugly dogs..whatever..yup, I guess we do. Now, we have our Meme and she is our sweetie. When her time comes, that will be it. She is good to take with us on the boat and on the road and she will do fine.

Hope you are successful with getting that dog to trust you, Linda.

Lots of us on the forum have rescue dogs. Too many out there that need our help cuz of the idiots out there.
