My Life is Taking a Turn

Well ladies, my life is about to take an interesting turn for the summer. I am "housing" another collie for a breeder friend who is having some "personal" issues and needs to par down a dog for awhle till she get turned around. The dog is BIG for a colllie and VERY RAMBUNCTOUS. Needless to say, things are probably going to get lively around here So looks like there is going to have to be some obedience training going on. Fortunately, my other two especially Sassy will run some of that energy out of her as they have been kennel mates before I got them. And this dog isn't spayed either so I will have to keep her under control althoug she's not "due" till late Sept/Oct and the breeder is taking her back before then so she can breed her again. My cut is a new puppy if I want one So... I'll keep you posted of our adventures!

Well good luck with that....you are a good friend. I'm sure with your experience and skill, you'll have her obeying your commands in no time.

But now you need to post another picture Multiple dogs are quite possible to keep without becoming too crazy, just depends on your set up and your schedule And your personal tolerance for fur bunnies! Enjoy...at least you will have an idea IF you really want that "puppy" when the time comes.

She arrived yesterday and got reaquainted with the "family". Right now she is sleeping by my desk here. Poor dog. All wore out from the truama of relocating to new home, new person and getting reaquainted. Actually my one Tessa was a kennel mate with Maize before. Sassy was living with me when Maize was born but has been down at the breeders while she "dog sat" for me once. And they played themselves silly. However, Sassy is now almost 4 years older and so far the urge to play hasn't come about with her yet, but I am beginning to see the start of a "bonding" a little between them. So we have all summer till end of September to see how it works out. The breeder plans to breed her one more time like I said unless plans change. At that time I can either take a pup from the lttter, or take Maize back if I have fallen in love with her. Tessa is the breeders favorite dog and she very much would like to show her again. She turns 7 next month and under AKC rules, she can be shown even if she's spayed providing they are at least 7 years old. There is a possibility that the breeder may take Tessa back to do that as she is still very much in "show mode" and loves it. She and Sassy aren't a good match peronalilty wise. So there may be some dog shifting going on around here later this summer. It will hinge on the breeder being able to mov from condo to rented house with fence. But I'm giving Maize awhile to adjust and then we are going to have a little obedience training session. This is not the first time I have had three, had three about a year ago until my dog Dancer had to be sent to "Rainbow Bridge".
