TWITCH R.I.P. 12-05-09

Last photo of my wonderful Twitch I took this morning as I left with him for his final shot at the vet's. His body is in the front yard, next to his grave I dug, and I am about to bury him before the snow arrives.
This job NEVER gets any easier over the years, but I know it was time. He left me with a huge sigh as the anesthesia relaxed him, purring all the time while I talked to him and held him. He was gone in a matter of seconds.
Please, everybody, do not send me any poems or Rainbow Bridge stuff, as it will just make me cry all the harder. He is gone----I will miss him for a long time. He is not hurting any more. I am, but I will recover.

Twitch really kept up his looks until the end. Handsome guy. Thinking of you...those last purrs are so hard to take....and then they are gone from our presence but never from our memories or our hearts.

I had the pleasure of knowing Twitch and I can tell you that he really was just as handsome as that pic shows. I enjoyed camping with him this past summer. I know that his last moments were peaceful with Soos holding him. Hang in there Soos, we're all with you!

Soos - I'm so sorry for your pain. Please take comfort in knowing what a good life Twitch had with you and the joy you were able to share over so many years.
