The Food Thieves

After years of ignoring the cat food bowls sitting high on the mantle on the left, Stuart had started jumping up on the crates and climbing a series of steps, that an additional small crate and the dog food containers provided, straight up to the bowls. The pictures were taken right after they came inside following my reorganizing the crate area and moving the food tubs to the right.

First Blondie starts barking to let me know that Stuart is doing something/going somewhere she knows dogs aren't suppose to go. Stuart says who me, I'm not doing nothing. By now he has figured out the jig is up.

Image

Then Blondie figures out that she can jump up there too....now.

Image

She figures out that the lid on the dog food is not going to open up for her.

Image

She figures out that the ledge is too high and too narrow to jump up here.....

Image

And you can see her brain doing the math on her chances of getting across this gap and reaching any of the goods.

Image

And then Stuart goes back up and tries to communicate to me the need to change things back the way they were. Like, "Really Mom I got the joke....now you can move those neat step tubs back."

Great shots of the fur babies food adventures. They probably need some extra treats for all that effort.

That's more involved than how Shade has been being a food thief!

Shade's food dishes are in the house on the kitchen floor. David's dog has her dishes out on the back porch. Every time Shade goes out the door and then comes back in the door she just has to stop and grab a mouthful to bring in the house where she then proceeds to nibble her stolen goodies! Her doggie food is lasting much longer here than in AZ!

They are so cute!! It's funny how there is always a a tattletale in the group. But I see Blondie went from tattling to participating! Peer pressure no doubt. Thanks for the pictures.

Caught in the act!!!  Way to cute. I think Stuart wants you to move the tubs back and add another so he can reach bowls. I often think how great it would be to be a fly on the wall to see what kind of mischief my dogs get into sometimes. :D Linda

That is exactly what he wanted....it was that set up that had allowed him to reach all the bowls and clean them out nicely. He has always demonstrated the most agility and lack of fear.

No, no, no! Blondie is to much of a Lady to do something like that. You can just see that she is demonstrating her "Lady" pose in the 5th pic, checking out what the problem and enticement was to Stuart.

And of course Stuart shows no repentance in the last photo. He is expecting not only aid but applause! :D
