My sister is here with her dog and Trixie is absolutely terrified of thunder and fireworks. My sister had read something about melatonin and dogs. We did some research on the net and then I called my vet and she called her vet. Trixie weighs about 25# and both vets recommended giving her a 1 mg tablet. Yesterday we had both thunder/lightning storms and fireworks and she was calmer than she had been on Tuesday night. Because of the rain last night we still have fireworks going off this evening so we have her another 1 mg pill and it's helping.
