I wouldn't give her anything that had been around in a baggy for an unknown period of time plus is if it is Beniful that is the worst brand of all the dog food. They have had reports of several dogs getting really ill recently but the manufacturer will not do a recall. I've heard that some of the clerks at Walmart are warning people who are buying it that it has problems. I buy food in small bags as the better dog food doesn't have the preservatives like BHT that are so bad for dogs and humans in them so they don't stay fresh as long.. I would definitely find something she will eat because as you probably know Papillions are prone to hypoglycemia and she could have a problem with her sugar if she doesn't eat at least twice a day.
Beth is happy with The Honest Kitchen for Peaches and there are several options. I feed Fromn and there are several varieties. Another that dogs like is Fresh Pet and you could use it as an additive to her dry, is in the refrigerator section of some grocery stores like Kroger and I have seen it at Pet Co Here is a link to Dog Food Advisor that reviews Fresh Pet and most other brands dog food http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food- ... ice-serve/ sign up to receive an email when there is a recall, they won't send you anything else but it is good to be notified quickly of any issues. I find it helpful to scroll down under the review and read what others say about the food. I stopped feeding Acana after I read that someone had taken over the company and had changed the recipe, explained why my dogs had started to refuse it all of a sudden. If she is over 8 you should feed a lower protein around 25% so that will rule out some grain free products.
If these brands aren't available near you Pet Flow is a good place to order from.
Hope this helps!

Peaches is finicky plus on a kidney diet. The reason I went with The Honest Kitchen food is because they have one with no protein (it's dehydrated food) and I add the protein. (Protein is what I have to limit.) Because I switch up the protein fault, with the same base, her finicky ways are almost non existent.

Fromm's was my go-to dog food when I lived Wisconsin.

The list in BJ's post is a good one. BTW, I do believe dogs like variety. When I was using Fromm's I would always have 2 varieties on hand, which kept finicky Tips happy lol. Moxie would eat anything and everything, the little piglet :-) Dang, I miss those two.
