Tomorrow we leave for Arizona and Amy the cat's first ride in the RV. I've been taking her every other day and leaving her there alone for about an hour. I found if I was there she would just sit in one spot. When I go, she looks around a little at the back of the RV on the bed. The last three times she's used the litter box upon arriving so I at least know she's aware of where it is and she can use it. I haven't driven with her yet so tomorrow will be a "crash" course for her. She usually eats in the morning but I think I'll only let her have a very small amount in hopes she won't throw up.

So we will see what happens. I sure hope all goes well.

Bet she does fine. Don't be too concerned over her being a little scared over movement the first day and I bet she will settle in and be a seasoned traveler before long. Our girls hid while the coach was moving the first day or two then began to be quite content to lay looking out windows as we drove.

Hope the trip is going well with Miss Amy! She's got the pups there to watch and take lessons from.

We've made it to Mojave for the night. The first 20 miles were hard on Amy because there's construction and the road is all chopped up and bumpy. She meowed that whole part but settled down once we got on I-5 south. At 3 hours she made a very distinctive meow/howl that I had learned from past experience meant she was going to throw up. I found a safe place to stop and it wasn't too bad since she ate little before leaving. However, then she pooped and it wasn't in the litter box! Oh well, that wasn't too bad either. So she stayed on the bed for most of the trip but came up front onto the sofa for the last hour. I think she had had just about enough and was meowing again. So we're settled for the night and she's walking around and looking out the screen door. I don't know if she's going to eat but I figure she will when she gets hungry enough. So all in all, for her very first day I think she did well. Yay Amy!!! Amy says thank you for all the support. She's going to aim for the litter box tomorrow (I hope).

Hooray for Amy (& for Sandi!)!
Glad you made it. Sounds like she's going to do just fine - you've definitely done your homework letting her get used to it. I bet each time gets easier. :D
Keep us in the loop & enjoy!

Good job, Amy! I think she's settling in - she has you and can look out the door - just needs time - and to aim for the litter box would be really helpful :)
