This is our 17 pound Maine Coon Pinky. She has taken over the latest box. Most aren't big enough for her.

More like a THUMB than a PINKY!
Probably a lot of it is fur, but she's huge, uh, I mean fluffy not fat.

Vickie, that use of the term fluffy always makes me smile. When I was in college a friend and I had one of our high school friends live with us a semester while her hubby was in Air Force training. She had gotten pregnant before he left for training. By the time he got back and joined us for a month or two as our 4th roomie, she was pretty good size. One day she burst in to tears, as we tend to do once in a while during pregnancy time, and complained to him that she was "so fat". Not missing a beat he came back with, you ain't fat, you's fluffy. It got her to smile, or at least stop crying. From that point on he said she was fluffy during that time and the next baby too(he was smart enough not to say it between babies). So I always smile at the use of fluffy for someone or something that otherwise might be called fat.

Got a little worried when I saw the title of this post ~ then just had a giggle when I saw the pic. Pinky is so cute - deserves her own box/home

Pinky's usual spot is sleeping on the tread mill. I tried to get her to walk but she isn's interested in much exercise. She tries to beat me to the bathroom if she sees me headed that way. She has her own water bowl in the bathroom and wants fresh water.
She and her sister Stinky were my son's cats. Leave it to a man to name cats Pinky and Stinky.

And leave it to adult children to know that Mom will take their pets when their situations change....
When I read "cat trap" all I could think of is that Martha doesn't need to find more cats...they always find her on their own.

What a cute cat! Is she cuddly? I love longer furred cats. Lola has long fur but isn't cuddly at all. Will get close enough to be petted and scratched but not close enough to be picked up and held.

Pinky would love to sit with me but she is so heavy she puts my legs to sleep. She and her sister both want to sit with me but they want to get in my face. Most cats don't want to get close to a face but not these two. If I try to talk on the phone Stinky is in my face. I don't know if she thinks I'm talking to her or what.
Tina, you are right about us having to step in for our children. My son keeps talking about getting a dog and I list all the things he needs to think about like food, vet, who's going to take care of it when he has to work.

Somewhere I have a greeting card I bought in Scotland that says exactly that: You ain't fat, you's fluffy. It has a sheep on it with some furry fabric glued on the body. Never had the right opportunity to send it to anyone.

Is that "you" or "ewe"? I adopted a couple of cats, once, and Yoda was very "fluffy". I went away for a weekend and left a self feeder for them. When I returned, it was totally empty! Then, I realized Yoda would chow down his food. Calvin would nibble a little. I realized Yoda was finishing Calvin's food, too. He was getting fluffier and fluffier and Calvin was getting much less than fluffy. I had to put Yoda on a diet, so I would take a dish with the amount of food he really needed and he would follow it as I put it in a pet crate. I would shut him in there and he would eat his food and I would let him out when Calvin was finished eating all of his food. It didn't take long for the weight to fall off of Yoda and Calvin to fill back out. I was amazed at the change in Yoda's personality and activity He was so much friendlier and playful. It was like I had a different cat!

Aww, very cute. A long time ago (probably 20 years) I had a Maine Coon cat and a domestic shorthair. They were best buddies although the much smaller domestic shorthair could kick the Maine Coon's butt when she wanted to do it. He was a big baby and loved to cuddle. Thanks for bringing back great memories.
