My sister, Barb, (you all know...she's the one who was my Medical Advisor this last summer.) got her Christmas present early.

Image

Her name is Lady Belle MacPherson....She's a miniature Australian Collie, 12 weeks old, has blue eyes, and already has everyone wrapped around her little paw...I can't wait to meet her as she has already found a soft spot in my heart....They had to pick her up at the airport in Buffalo, NY as she came from OK or AR....

I just had to share the new addition to the fur-baby part of the extended family...

On edit: maybe she's an Australian Shepherd....I'll have to check...

We had a blue merle australian shepherd with one blue eye and one brown eye. We got her when my older son was about 7 and they were great pals. They were always up to something. We still laugh about some of the things they use to do. Scott would tie his wagon to her collar and try to get her to pull him. One day he got a bag of cookies and would throw a cookie so she would go get it and pull him. That worked good until she took off after a cat and went under a barbed wire fence. He had to bail out of the wagon. She was a very good dog.

I had two Australian Shepherds who, when asked if they wanted to ride, would jump up behind me crosswise on my horse. We lived on top of a hill and after a long ride, they always enjoyed a ride back up the hill. We were quite a sight. Australian Shepherds are very intelligent and the breed did not originate in Australia, but rather the good 'ole USA.

Thanks, Sandi...will pass along the story and the info to my sister....she says that Lady is very smart and as of the other day when I talked with her, no potty training accidents inside... ;) Haven't met Lady yet, but love her photos.... :D
