Vickie, so sad to hear about Remi! Glad you could be with him at the end. Has he been sick recently or was this unexpected? Keep a watch on the other dog since they can sometimes get depressed when they lose a friend.
Take care

Awwwww.....makes me cry to hear this, Vickie. But how wonderful you were there as he closed his eyes for the last time, and that you were the last one to hug him on his way.

Losing our 4-footers is as hard as losing many of our 2-footers. Big, teary hugs to you.

Aw, just catching up with this thread. So sorry, Vickie. It's hard to say good-bye to a long-time pet.

He has. Their kennels were side by side, so he saw what was happening and we let him smell Remi and say bye to his bigger little brother. Now he seems to have more of his old playful personality coming back. I think because Remi was bigger he took on the alpha dog, even though Weatherby was a year old when we found Remi. (it couldn't be the fact that he gets ALL the attention now!)
