My Molly Went to the Bridge Today

Postby IrishIroamed » Mon Feb 03, 2014 7:36 pm

I'm so sad today and can't stop crying. She was alert until the end, but she couldn't walk anymore due to hip dysplasia and a tumor on her knee. The poem "A Dog's Plea" helped me to help her.

We know when we bring furkids into our homes, we only have them for a short, wonderful time, but that doesn't make the hurt any easier.

I hope Tina doesn't mind, but I took her inspiration about Hershel and wrote something about Molly. I will miss her for the rest of my days.

So sorry for your loss. Wish Nicky and I had had the opportunity to meet her.
The blog post was a nice tribute to her and you are so lucky she shared her life with you. Just keep remembering all the good times.

So sorry, Cheryl.
I know how hard this decision is - you've got some rough days ahead but hopefully knowing that Molly now runs free from pain will help.
That was a beautiful memorial for her... as Sarah said, remember the good times.
Keeping you both in my thoughts & prayers.

It is so hard to watch them age and allow them to enjoy all those last months for as long as possible knowing that decision that we have to make. It is the hardest responsibility to repay them for all the love they have shared with us.....

Your heart will never forget.

I'm so sorry for your loss! I realized, the other day, that Rags is 6 years old. It doesn't seem possible. I hate to think of losing my boys, someday. My heart hurts for you

So sorry for your loss. I had a cockapoo who looked a lot like Molly and I had to make that same decision as well when she was 16. It's very hard. My heart goes out to you.

Thank you so much ladies any animal lover understands it. I picked up all of Molly's toys last night and put them in her basket and Zorro took them all out & he doesn't play with toys. Poor Zorro keeps staring at the door.

It is always heard. Thanks again for the kind thoughts and give all your furkids a hug for me.

I am so sorry Cheryl, I know what a hard decision it is even though we know it is the kindness thing.
