How to handle 3 dogs on the road

At the last rally I went to someone was there with 2 dogs that were as big as ponies. I don't think they were Great Danes but don't remember what they told me they were. My son had a dog that was half Greyhound and half Lab. He looked like a Great Dane but wasn't quiet as big. He had the best disposition. He would follow the cow dogs to the field but get distracted trying to catch frogs in a mud puddle.
