Herschel has company from NC

Postby BirdbyBird » Sun Jun 27, 2010 7:57 pm

Kate and Lucas came up from Charlotte to go to Kate's cousin's wedding. She brought her 11 year old Hanna (a Golden) with her to hang out with the pack. Hanna lived here when Herschel first came to live with me and up until about 4 years ago when Kate bought her little house and took her Hanna dog south to live with her. Hanna always loved going to visit my dad and then after the visit she and Herschel would exit the house and make a run straight to the pond for their swim. As you can see Izzy and her mother Blondie both enjoyed the pond. All four of them can dock dive but I have to say Izzy and Blondie did more of a splash jump off the side while both Herschel and Hanna could get a little air with their leaps. Happy dogs on a hot day.

That is too cute! What is the round black thing in the middle? Is that for a fountain? The pups look like they are having a blast! How fun is that?
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

that looks so refreshing, I've only had one dog in my life that liked to jump in the water.
She was a german shepherd coyote mix, had her in my early 20's BC (before children)
Even my black lab Ashley hated water and went out of her way to avoid stepping in a
puddle. My black lab Cody had to be taught to swim and he was ok in the water but didn't
get into it like yours do. My little cocker didn't care for water either. Do you suppose dogs
either like it or not or is it something they learn to enjoy? I've even known italian greyhounds
that liked to swim in the pool but of course mine run for cover when I turn the bath on.
Love your pictures :D

They certainly are enjoying themselves. Great to see. Thanks for sharing. Bet Herschel is thrilled to have his buddy visiting. And it sure appears that Izzy and Blondie were happy to have Hanna there also.

Nicky and lizzie would be jealous but I decided not to let them see the photos. They do send their "hellos' to all however - woof, woof
Know Belle doesn't swim but did she get to go along?

We hoomans could sure take lessons from our furry friends on how to have fun.

That looks like fun. My shepherd/lab mix loves the water, the stinker the better. She never found a good clean pond, only the ones that stunk. :o You bet she got a bath after a swim like that. Her love for such ponds really played havoc on her ears. When I first got her, she was just getting over an infection. Thanks for sharing the pics, what a fun day for the puppies. Linda

What great pics of very happy dogs! I really wish Molly liked water, but, as someone else mentioned, she will walk a mile to avoid a puddle! She doesn't even like wet grass! I am wondering if someone might have tried to drown her before I got her. I have never had a dog before who didn't love to go swimming in my pond. I even carried Molly into the water one really hot day, but she panicked, swam very well and very fast, and ran out!

Thanks for the show!
